Happy 70th Birthday, Leatherhead & District Local History Society!

This week we discovered that the L&DCPS was the 1940s 'parent' of the Leatherhead & District Local History Society. The History Society is celebrating its 70th birthday, and held a fascinating evening on Friday 18 November 2016 to mark the occasion. Speakers gave a remarkable insight into the story and achievements of the History Society, and the VIP guest was the extraordinary Stephen Fortescue, now 95 years old. Happy Birthday, L&DLHS, and thank you to the committed people who stood up in the past for our heritage and the quality of our environment - we will do our best to keep up your good work!
